OUR HISTORY

On September 18, 2016, Living Word Church, San Angelo Texas, held its first worship service to the glory and honor of God. The church was incorporated by the state of Texas on October 31, 2016. Many events and encounters with Almighty God transpired before the establishment of the church. Pastor Gosha was saved on 4 Dec, 1994 in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Throughout his life, he always felt a calling to serve God. In Shreveport Louisiana, he began his evangelism ministry under the leadership of Pastor Donald Johnson. Shortly after that, he continued his evangelism ministry and soon began teaching under the leadership of Rev Dr. Frederick M. Thompson in Wrightstown New Jersey. Under Dr. Thompson’s leadership, Pastor Gosha was ordained as a Deacon in 2009, licensed as minister of the Gospel in 2011 and elevated an Ordained as Elder in July 2015. It was in 2011 that he began to sense a strong call from God to the Pastorate. After several years of serving faithfully in ministry, the Lord led Elder Keith and Minister Vanessa Gosha to San Angelo Texas, where they met anointed leaders and Pastors such as Apostle Gary Jenkins and Pastor Leo McCarthy in the local area. But it was under the powerful leadership of Rev Dr. Frederick Thompson and Pastor Shawna Adams, that they were able to spread their wings and make final preparations to launch a new church. With the blessing from their pastors, Elder Keith and Minister Gosha set out to establish a Bible believing, Spirit-filled church that would impact the community and ultimately the world.

Pastor and Minister Gosha did not establish the work alone. God prepared a small core of believers that were instrumental in getting the new church off the ground.  The first to put their hands to the plow were Brother Jacoy Owens, Sister Ashley Munoz, Brother Jordan Painter, and Brother George and Sis Michelle Torres. Brother John (now Deacon John) and Sister Ava(now Trustee), our Chairperson of the Trustee Board, sensed a strong call from God to help establish a church that would honor HIS name and put their hands to the plow. The Lord was gracious in sending Living Word Church their first members, Mother Jeorgia Brassell and Sis Janice Luckett( now Deaconess). All in all, the Lord blessed Living Word Church in every step of the way.

To the glory and honor of God, under the first year at Living Word Church, a Prayer in Pink Service was established every October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. Also, Living Word has partnered with Concho Valley home for Girls/Shelter to provide toiletries and needs of the community to them quarterly. Pastor Gosha has partnered with the Homeless Coalition to work in the community with his members. Under Minister/First Lady Gosha, the W.E. Ministry (Women Empowered, Embraced and Encouraged in Christ) was established for all women in the community and hosts annual Daughter’s Tea gathering in the local area. Lastly, an academic achievement program called LWC Rising Stars was established to encourage our youth to excel with their grades throughout the school year each semester. What a great foundational start. Glory to God!

We give God all the glory and praise! We have come this far in a short time by faith and we expect to see God’s provision for everything that he has called us to accomplish as a church.
